Yeovil Town are back in SkyBet League One action this coming with a trip to Peterborough United.
Peterborough lie in 13th place in the table and whilst that may seem like mid-table obscurity, the Posh lie just three points outside the play-off spots.
In contrast, the London Road side sit a comfortable seven points away from the relegation zone and a further two points again from Saturday’s opponents Yeovil.
The Glovers have finally clawed themselves off the bottom of the table with a mini unbeaten run that has taken in three games.
The home win over Bradford was backed up with impressive results against Preston and Coventry.
That run has put the Glovers within touching distance of the safety zone with 20th place Crewe just four points above the green and whites.
As for Peterborough, they actually sit below Yeovil in the form guide, just one win in the last six came last Saturday.
The 2-1 win over Notts County was the first win for Darren Ferguson’s men since 13th December.
In total, they have only collected three points twice since the 18th of October.
Nine defeats in that time have seen them plummet down the table, all whilst keeping in touch of the leading pack thanks to their good start to the season and the odd draw in the meantime.
At home, the stats make even more alarming reading, one draw out of six combined with five defeats have really put the pressure on at London Road.
Manager Darren Ferguson (pictured above) will be unable to assist from the sidelines this weekend, he is serving the second of a two match ban following an altercation with the referee in their defeat to Colchester last month.
They will also be without influential defender Gab Zakuani, the Congolese international is away at the African Cup of Nations and will be in the squad for the Democratic Republic of Congo on Saturday.
In goal for the home side could well be Scott Loach who has joined on loan from Ipswich, Loach has answered the call following injury to Ben Alnwick.
Yeovil will have to look at their goalkeeper situation following the conclusion of Saturday’s fixture, Villa loanee Jed Steer (pictured below) has been told he will be returning to the midlands following the completion of his loan spell.
Steer has been at Yeovil since the start of November keeping clean sheets against Chesterfield, Crawley, Oldham, Accrington as well as Bradford and Coventry.
The Yeovil defence may look very different next week as Ben Nugent returns from suspension after the Posh game.
The hunt for extra players at Huish Park has continued this week and will go right down to the wire on deadline day this Monday.
Town signed midfielder Fergus Bell on Thursday after the 24-year-old left Mansfield Town.
Yeovil have been unable to name a full bench in recent weeks, with just six out of seven names against Coventry.
Kieffer Moore will more than likely continue in defence, the striker has been a make shift centre back for three games and has impressed in his part time role.
When the two sides met earlier this season at Huish Park, Yeovil won through thanks to a fine solo goal from Joel Grant.
The Jamaican winger waltzed through the defence in the dying moments to secure a 1-0 win; Grant has been missing with an injury for a long time since returning from international duty.
Prior to this season, the sides last met in 2011.
A 2-0 Posh win at London Road was followed by a 2-2 draw at Huish Park. Paul Wotton (pictured above) and Andrew Tutte scored for Yeovil.
Going back to 2009, a 3-1 win away win for Yeovil was an impressive result with goals from Paul Warne (pictured below), Aaron Brown and Shaun MacDonald doing the damage.
The reverse fixture saw a 1-0 Peterborough win, meaning the head to head sits even with both sides notching up two wins with just one draw.
Tickets for the away fixture have been announced and are available on the day with a sizeable increase in prices on the day.
Anyone not making the trip can, as ever, keep up with the goings on with full coverage on Glovers Player and regular updates via the @YTFC twitter account.
Following the match, the post match reaction will be available on YouTube with the highlights uploaded on Sunday.
Next Saturday sees the Glovers return to Huish Park to face another side in the bottom four when Crawley come to town.
