Darren Way’s side are back on the road for the first time in three weeks as they travel to Brisbane Road on Saturday, looking to end a run of five games without a win in league competition. 

Town lost out 2-1 at home to Hartlepool United last weekend at Huish Park courtesy of a stoppage time winner from Pools’ Nathan Thomas, after taking the lead mid-way through the first half courtesy of Matt Butcher’s first Football League goal. 

The Glovers have enjoyed a run of fixtures at home facing Blackpool, Portsmouth and Hartlepool in Somerset, but will make the relatively short journey to the capital this weekend. 

They will do so without attacker Ollie Bassett who joined Evo-Stik League Southern Premier outfit Dorchester Town on loan earlier this week, with no fresh injury concerns as Francois Zoko continues to recover from a hip flexor injury.

The O’s come into the match just outside the play-offs in eighth place after winning three of their opening seven matches. Their last win in League Two came against Morecambe a fortnight ago, claiming a 2-1 victory away from home.

In their last outing Orient picked up a point away to Carlisle as they were pegged back twice to eventually draw the game 2-2. Former Yeovil loanee Harry Cornick netted for the visitors and is likely to line-up against his former club on Saturday.

Saturday’s match will be the 26th competitive meeting between the two sides with Orient slightly edging the head-to-head record with 10 wins compared to Yeovil’s eight. 

The Glovers picked up a point at Brisbane Road last season with Zoko’s strike being cancelled out by a Jobi McAnuff wonder goal late on, before an 87th minute winner from Ollie Palmer won the return fixture for the O’s. 

Town’s last win against Orient came in January 2014 in the FA Cup Third Round at Huish Park when James Hayter (x2), Joel Grant and Kieffer Moore were all on target for the hosts in a 4-0 win, with the Glovers’ last league victory against Leyton Orient coming the season before with Paddy Madden (x2) and James Hayter sealing a 3-0 win. 

Darren Deadman from Cambridgeshire will take charge of the match in London. 

Mr Deadman was the man in the middle for two of Town’s fixtures last season, overseeing the 0-0 draw against Portsmouth at Fratton Park – awarding just one booking in the process – and the 1-0 home loss to Wycombe, in which he bizarrely booked Town midfielder Ben Tozer after failing to award either a penalty or booking Luke O’Nien for simulation after a challenge from ‘keeper Chris Weale. 

Having officiated five matches this season, Mr Deadman has awarded 17 yellow cards but is yet to brandish a single red card.

He will be assisted by Andrew Aylott (Bedfordshire) and Stephen Finch (Suffolk) with Nigel Lugg (Surrey) taking on the role of fourth official.
