Yeovil Town are back in SkyBet Championship action this Tuesday night and the Glovers will be hoping to continue a fantastic run of form as they host Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich.

Huish Park is a fantastic place to be for an evening match, under the floodlights and with the Green and White army on the crest of a wave, fans will be hoping for a repeat of Saturday’s magnificent win.

Overturning Sheffield Wednesday thanks to two Ishmael Miller goals ensured Yeovil extended their unbeaten run to five games and some pretty impressive stats to go with it.

It’s now two wins in a row at home and three clean sheets in four games. Mission Survival’ as it is being dubbed is now well underway and Yeovil are now up to 22nd in the table, just one spot away from safety.

As it stands, Yeovil are two points behind Millwall, but crucially have a game in hand, win that and continue in decent form and simple maths says we’ll leap frog them – if only football was that easy!

As for Ipswich, they are sat comfortably in the top half of the table; they lie in 9th just four points outside of the play-off places. They will no doubt be thinking that starting a run of form now might just give them a chance of sneaking into the end of season shake up.

However, on Saturday they faced a Middlesbrough side that hadn’t scored in a very long time, over eleven hours. But despite that a Danny Graham double put the Tractor Boys to the sword as they came away on the wrong end of a 2-0 score line.

As an aside, any Ipswich fan that has done both Middlesbrough and Yeovil away will have travelled just short of 1000 miles in four days to get from Portman Road to the games and back.

Prior to the weekend’s game, it has been a mixed bag of results over the past couple of months. Wins against Birmingham, Bolton and Reading stand out as decent results, but slipping up against Millwall, Barnsley and Leicester probably cancel out those first three.

Recently, Ipswich had added some Premier League experience to their side, Jonny Williams, a Welsh international midfielder has signed on loan from Crystal Palace. One member of their squad who may return to action is full back Frazer Richardson, the Middlesbrough loanee had to miss out against his parent club on Saturday. For Yeovil, the squad edges closer to complete set of fit and available players as Kieffer Moore is able to return after suspension.

Joe Ralls will miss out again after his red card against Reading. Elsewhere, Liam Davis was sent to St George’s Park for some intense treatment on his foot injury. Sam Foley won’t be involved either as he joined Shrewsbury Town on loan on Friday afternoon.

When the two sides met earlier in the season, also on a Tuesday night, Ipswich came out on top with a 2-1 win. Joel Grant had given Yeovil a half time lead with a thunderbolt of a goal, but second half goals from Daryl Murphy and Aaron Cresswell had secured the points.

Prior to that, the two clubs had only met once before, a League Cup tie in 2005. Darren Way and Kevin Gall scored in a brilliant 2-0 win for the Glovers.

The same again tomorrow night, could take Yeovil out of the bottom three.

The other sides in the bottom six are also in action over the course of the next 48 hours; Barnsley host top of the table Leicester, Millwall and Blackpool meet in Lancashire, Doncaster play Watford and bottom side Charlton play on Wednesday against Huddersfield.

As ever, it’s down to the green and whites to do their own job first and winning their game will do just fine. It’s a battle of the countryside sides this Tuesday night at Huish Park and the Glovers need your support.

Tickets are available right up until kick off, but if you can’t make it the usual nod in the direction of Glovers Player (You can currently sign up for a free 14 day trial) or the club’s many social networks.
