Yeovil Town head to Eastleigh for their first game in 10 days on Tuesday evening (7:45pm).

Hungry to bounce back from a defeat to York, the Glovers will be raring to go in Hampshire on Tuesday evening.

Tuesday’s hosts have endured a mixed start to the season and currently sit in mid-table.

Chris Hargreaves’ thoughts

With the postponement of Saturday’s game due to the sad passing of Queen Elizabeth, Chris Hargreaves has not spoken to the media since his pre-Woking press conference.

This can be watched below, in the interview the boss paid tribute to Marcus Stewart who on Thursday announced his Motor Neurone Disease diagnosis:

Team news

The Glovers will certainly be without Ollie Hulbert who joined Gloucester City on a month’s loan on Monday afternoon.

In his press conference, the boss said Fin Craske is working hard and could be edging closer to his Yeovil Town debut after joining on loan from Plymouth Argyle.

Matt Worthington missed out against York due to injury and it remains to be seen if the midfielder will be available in Hampshire.

A foot in the opposition camp

There’s been a lot of change around the Silverlake Stadium in the last six months. Long-serving manager Ben Strevens has departed with former Bournemouth boss Lee Bradbury taking the reigns.

The star man in the hosts’ camp is Ryan Hill, the forward netted against the Glovers in the 20/21 season and signed a new contract in the Summer.

Michael Kelly is a familiar face to Glovers fans, having played for Yeovil in the game Hill scored in.

Have we met before?

Yeovil Town have endured a mixed record against the Spitfires since relegation to the National League, with two wins and two defeats, and a draw.

Eastleigh were the opponents our first victory since returning to the level way back in August 2019. Due to COVID-19’s curtailment of the 19/20 season, the two sides did not meet again until December 2020, which saw Eastleigh claim their first victory over the Glovers. In February 2021, the Spitfires claimed their second as Hill grabbed the only goal of the game at the Silverlake Stadium.

Last season, Yeovil Town were the 2-1 victors at Huish Park thanks to goals from Tom Knowles and Adi Yussuf, before a goalless stalemate at the Silverlake.
