In September 2014, after making four appearances for Hawke's Bay United in the New Zealand Football Championship, Gould signed with Cheltenham Town in EFL League Two. Following a loan spell at Bishop's Cleeve, he joined Livingston in 2015 but did not feature for the first team.
In 2016, after loan spells at Stenhousemuir and Stourbridge, Gould signed permanently with Stourbridge, who were competing in the Northern Premier League Premier Division. He played a key role in helping the club reach the third round of the FA Cup, where they achieved a notable 1–0 victory over Northampton Town, who were four divisions higher at the time. Stourbridge was subsequently defeated 2–1 by Wycombe Wanderers in the next round. Gould made 138 appearances for Stourbridge before leaving the club in 2018.
On 16 August 2020, Gould signed with Altrincham. After not featuring for Altrincham in 2021, he was loaned to Nantwich Town for three months. On 23 May 2022, Gould signed an extension with Altrincham, where he competed for the starting goalkeeper position and took on the role of first-team goalkeeper coach after completing his UEFA qualifications.
In July 2024, Gould joined newly promoted National League side Yeovil Town as a player and goalkeeping coach.
