Well, I don’t really know where to start YTFC fans and I have left this late to write due to the overriding emotions after Tuesday night’s defeat.

Mansfield broke all green and white hearts in the ninth minute of stoppage time (you can’t help but think that would only happen to Yeovil) but unfortunately our hearts have been on the verge of breaking for two and a half years now.

Since our relegation from the Championship, we have been on a downward spiral and it is getting harder and harder to take.

I think our problems lie deeper than the 11 on the pitch and as a club we need to pull together as things must change.

After 13 years away from non-league, which in itself is a remarkable achievement, we have been to the dizzy heights of the second tier and hosted enviable ties in the FA Cup. This is something that becomes a lot harder out of the football league.

I have nothing but respect for non-league and I work at a paper where we celebrate the great sides in the divisions and the remarkable achievements.

However, we are Yeovil Town Football Club. We are an established football league side and that is how it must remain.

On Tuesday, our crowd dipped to under 3,000 for the second time and for me that is hard to take. This great football club deserves all the support in the world and to see it dwindling is soul destroying.

We were a club that made the headlines for the right reasons. We never gave up. We were down to nine men at Sheffield Wednesday and Reading and still salvaged points and that was not even that long ago.

That was the club that we were – the one that people said: “How did they do that?”

We need that mentality again – because WHEN we stay up this season people will say just that as many will regard us as dead and buried. We have had a shambolic start to the season and as many of you may have seen on Twitter I believe that excuses will no longer do.

Losing your concentration in the ninth minute of added time is unacceptable and I am sure the lads know that and feel gutted. But now it is time for them, the backroom staff and the board to stand up and be counted and make that change.

We can say all we want about injuries and luck but you make your own luck in this game and those injured players are not returning anytime soon.

Therefore, we must get the results together without them and make sure that two other teams slip out of the football league this season.

Our fans have been phenomenal through all the hardship this season – travelling to Notts County, York and Accrington in numbers despite the poor run.

That is what will save this club from the predicament it is currently in – but the supporters now need a little help and I am sure that everyone at Yeovil Town Football Club will be working tirelessly to make it happen.

Without sounding like a broken record, I must say how lucky I think we are to have a player like Artur Krysiak in goal. After a nasty collision our Polish stopper played on and went on to have six stitches in his head. This is exactly the mentality that every player must have now – never say die!

So this may not have been my weekly view on football but it is my view on my beloved Yeovil Town.

I am making the 300 mile round trip on Saturday to watch us against Cambridge because it is in my blood to. Not only is this a huge test of our character, it is a huge test with how the lads can deal with pressure.

I would argue it is a must win, even at this early stage. This is not because of the points but because of the hardship the fans have been through this season and what a difference a win can make.

I know it is hard to muster up the heart to watch Yeovil Town sometimes but I urge you please to get down to Huish Park and support your club. They need you and those players need us – no matter what else is going. We MUST stay up.
