The Glovers are currently without James Bailey, Francois Zoko, Gary Warren, Jordan Green, Omar Sowunmi and Diallang Jaiyesimi, with the latter ruled out for the remainder of the season.
Captain Sowunmi was ruled out for between 10 and 12 weeks earlier this month whilst Gary Warren and Jordan Green are yet to learn their fate following scans.
Closer to a return, James Bailey and Francois Zoko are back in training after 10 months and two months out respectively with medial knee ligament injuries.
Commenting on the expected scan results for Warren and Green, Way isn’t anticipating lengthy lay-offs for the duo: “Jordan had a scan and it’s not as bad as we first feared so he should be back ASAP.
“We still don’t know the extent of Gary’s injury but from speaking to the physio, again, it’s not a bad one so with both of those two players – who are main assets – they should be back soon.”
Offering a positive, Wes McDonald returned to the bench on Tuesday night after two months out whilst Alefe Santos came on for his first appearance since the start of September.
The duo were joined amongst the substitutes by goalkeeper Stuart Nelson who was in the matchday squad for just a second time after missing the start of the campaign with a calf injury.
