Peter was born during Yeovil’s famous 1948-49 season, soon attending matches with his father which started a lifelong passion for the club.
Over the course of his life, Peter compiled an incredible collection of football programmes, predominantly involving Yeovil and contributed to social histories of the club and was very proud of his near-comprehensive and pristine collection.
Peter was a Director of the club for eight years up until Yeovil achieved promotion to the Football League in 2003, enjoying his role during an enjoyable period for the club.
Remaining a season-ticket holder and attending matches with his son, Bob, he made many good friendships within the club and had hugely happy times following Yeovil.
One of those friendships was with Glovers Chairman John Fry, who has paid tribute to Peter.
“Peter was a very intelligent, professional and very loyal person who had Yeovil Town in his blood. His father supported the club all his life and now his son Bob will carry on the tradition.
“Peter was a fantastic supporter director who made a major contribution to the club’s HRD policies in the mid 90s. Peter was a thoroughly decent man who I had great respect for and he’ll be much missed.”
The thoughts of everyone at YTFC are with Peter’s family and friends at this sad time.
