Playing a key role in helping Leyton Orient regain their EFL status in 2018/19, the 32-year-old now arrives at Huish Park to be reunited with former manager Darren Sarll.
Making 118 appearances for Stevenage during Sarll’s tenure, the Tottenham Academy graduate joins after a successful spell at the Breyer Group Stadium.
Lee made 38 appearances for the O’s last season and played a pivotal role in helping them lift the National League title for the fifth promotion of his career.
Promoted three times during a four-year stay at Peterborough United, the versatile midfielder – who can also operate all across the back four – picked up back-to-back Player of the Year awards at London Road to go with his winners’ medals.
Making over 150 appearances for the Posh after starting out at Tottenham, Lee boasts over 450 Football League appearances with further spells at Gillingham and Millwall.
Having captured Lee’s services, Sarll said: “I’m delighted to add Charlie, someone I know very well – I know his personality, his qualities and he’s going to be a huge addition to our playing squad.
“Charlie has played from this league all the way up to the Championship and knows what it takes to get out of these leagues, so I believe it’s a real coup to have him here and ends the long hunt for an experienced midfielder.”
