The 21-year-old becomes the Glovers’ third summer signing, joining from Luton Town on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
Gray featured twice against the Green and Whites last season and, from his knowledge of going head-to-head with Darren Way’s side, believes he will fit in from the outset.
“It’s an attacking side which likes to press with a lot of energy – something I’m really into,” he told YTFC’s official YouTube channel.
“I’m an attacking midfielder who likes to create chances and score goals. I like to get back in and defend as well so I’m box-to-box.
“I like to be really energetic on the pitch too and I feel I really suit this club.
“Hopefully I’ll score a few goals and excite the fans.”
Gray will join up with his new team-mates when Town return to pre-season training in early July.
The former Crystal Palace man is excited at the prospect of a good year with the Glovers after manager Way outlined his targets for 2017/18.
He said: “I was actually on the beach on holiday when the first contact was made!
“As soon as I was back I came down, had a great chat with the manager and now I’m looking forward to getting started.
“(One of my reasons for signing) is his ambition for the season. He’s explained how much of a big club it is and he’s aiming high this year.
“He is expecting a lot from me which is exciting. I’m really looking forward to playing a lot of games and believe we can have a successful year.”
