The 23-year-old has featured in the last three friendly fixtures for the green and whites and has now made his stay permanent by signing a one-year deal with a club option for a second.
A stand-out player in the Southern League Premier South division with Salisbury last season – playing a starring role in helping the Whites to a fourth place finish – the playmaker now swaps Wiltshire for Somerset after a four-year stay at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium where he won two promotions.
Almost joining Bury last summer following a trial spell in Greater Manchester, the former Millfield School student arrived at Huish Park with a glowing report from staff at Gigg Lane following manager Darren Sarll’s inquiry.
Bringing in his seventh summer signing, the Glovers boss said: “What we didn’t have was an influential midfield player and he fits the role and the way it’s played.
“He had ringing endorsements from Bury but he’s also young without being wet behind the ears, so he has the hunger, that ambition and that drive to become someone and something. When you marry that with guidance and direction that can be quite a dynamic connection.”
Glovers fans can watch Tom and the rest of the squad in action for the final time in pre-season tomorrow afternoon at Huish Park when they take on Bristol City Under-23s.
