Yeovil Town snatched all three points in dramatic fashion at Huish Park as Harvey Greenslade’s last-gasp goal sealed victory over AFC Fylde.

The match began at a high tempo, with Yeovil creating the first clear-cut opportunity. A free kick from Sonny Blu Lo-Everton took a deflection off the wall, forcing the Fylde goalkeeper into an early save.

Moments later, the resulting corner caused havoc in the six-yard box, but the visitors managed to scramble the ball away before a Yeovil player could capitalise.

Josh Sims had a chance to break the deadlock in the 17th minute when Charlie Cooper squared the ball into the box from the left, but his effort was off target.

Ciaran McGuckin came close on the half-hour mark, rising to meet a Cooper free kick from the left, only to see his powerful header narrowly miss the target.

The second half began at a slower pace, with much of the play concentrated in midfield. However, the game sprang to life in the final fifteen minutes, with Yeovil ramping up the pressure in search of a winner.

Late on, McGuckin had another chance, meeting a cross inside the box, but his effort was well blocked by the Fylde defence.

As full-time approached, Cooper tried his luck from distance after McGuckin laid the ball off to him on the edge of the area, but his fierce strike was well dealt with by the Fylde goalkeeper.

Fylde then had a rare chance of their own deep into stoppage time when Ashley Boateng met a corner, but his header flashed just wide.

With seconds remaining, Yeovil finally found the breakthrough they had been pushing for. A superb run down the left from Greenslade was matched by a perfectly weighted through ball from McGuckin. Greenslade’s strike was helped into the net by desperate Fylde defenders, securing a hard-earned victory for the Glovers.

The final whistle blew to the delight of the Huish Park crowd, with Yeovil taking a crucial three points as they enter the final stretch of the 2024/25 season, with just three home matches remaining.
