Yeovil Town were dealt late heartbreak as a stoppage time equaliser denied the Glovers a second win of 2022.
Alex Bradley’s second half strike from distance looked like it would be the difference between the two sides, but after a spell of late pressure from the hosts, the Glovers let their lead slip.
Late chances fell for the Glovers, but it wasn’t to be as the points were shared at Meadow Lane.
Darren Sarll made just two changes to the side which was defeated by Chesterfield. Dale Gorman returned from suspension replacing Matt Worthington, whilst Adi Yussuf dropped out with Adi Yussuf taking his place in the eleven. This saw Jordan Barnett begin in an unfamiliar advanced role.
The hosts were the side in the ascendency for much of the first half, and in truth probably should’ve lead at the break with the quality of chance they created. The best of those fell to Ruben Rodrigues who saw his free header sail well wide of Grant Smith’s goal.
For Yeovil, the hosts did well to restrict to counter attacks, which became far more regular once Notts County skipper Kyle Cameron was forced off with an injury.
It took until the 41st minute for Town to force a save from Vitezslav Jaros, after Wakefield was fouled whilst baring down on goal, Dale Gorman absolutely leathered his 35-yard free-kick towards goal but strong hands from the Notts keeper saw him claim the ball.
However, in the second half, it took just one minute for Yeovil to make a chance, and when it came, they took it. After a defensive mix-up caught Jaros off his line, Bradley needed no initiation to fire on goal, finding the top corner and opening the scoring.
Despite the hosts chasing the game, the better chances continued to fall, Barnett struck the bar with his corner kick, with Wilkinson unable to divert a number of efforts goal bound.
In the closing stages, the hosts began to apply pressure on Grant Smith’s goal, and it told in stoppage time. Former Glover Alex Lacey found room in the box to head home and secure a late point for Notts County.
