Yeovil Town Women returned to winning ways in style with a commanding 4-1 victory over Feniton Women, securing their third win of the season and climbing to fifth in the table.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 26th minute when Becky Miles delivered a perfectly weighted ball out wide to Abbie Carslake. Carslake cut inside onto her right foot and unleashed a brilliant strike into the top corner to give Yeovil an early advantage. Just before the break, Miles sent another superb delivery into the box, but Laura Wensley’s header went narrowly wide of the post.
After half-time, Yeovil took firm control of the match. In the 52nd minute, Terri Will’s clever through ball found Chloe Davenport, who finished with composure to double the lead. Moments later, Emily Hall came to Yeovil’s rescue with an excellent save, punching away a dangerous effort from the hosts.
Yeovil’s third goal arrived in the 59th minute, as Miles sent in a pinpoint corner that Wensley met with a powerful header to extend the lead. A minute later, Miles added her name to the scoresheet, rounding off an outstanding individual performance by slotting the ball past the goalkeeper to make it 4-0. Feniton pulled a goal back in the 65th minute, but the result was never in doubt.
This commanding performance not only saw Yeovil Town Women bounce back to winning ways but also showcased their attacking quality and determination. The team now sit fifth in the table as they look to build on their third victory of the season.
