On a sunny afternoon in Lancashire and after a nightmare journey on the M6 for the majority of the travelling 347 fans, Town made the long trip home with a point against Blackburn Rovers.
Manager Gary Johnson was forced into making one change to his starting eleven that drew with AFC Bournemouth a week earlier. Liam Davis replaced striker Kieffer Moore after the striker picked up a calf strain.
Davis started on the left wing with Tom Lawrence moving further up field to support James Hayter.
Within the first five minutes the home side nearly opened the scoring when Jason Lowe picked the ball up 30 yards from goal and unleashed a low shot at goal.
Shot stopper Marek Stech stood still on his line thinking the ball was going wide but luckily the ball bounced back off the base of the post and away to safety.
Town’s first real chance of the first half fell to Joe Ralls after 25 minutes. The Cardiff City loanee found himself with space in the Blackburn area, but fired his left-footed shot wide of the goal.
After the half time break Town had the first chance with Lawrence again the provider. The Manchester United man cut in from the right to lay the ball off the Davis, who was unmarked on the edge of the area, but the wide man’s shot went wide of Robinson’s post.
With less than twenty minutes to go substitute Grant was set free on the right by Hayter. The winger’s cross was deflected wide for a corner, which was eventually cleared by the Rovers defence.
In the dying minutes three of the Town back four threw themselves in front of a goalbound Josh King effort. Moments later Edwards tracked back well to make a last ditch sliding tackle to ensure Town returned home with a point.
