Yeovil Town will be on the hunt for their first win of the new year as Wrexham visit Huish Park.
After an exit from the FA Trophy last weekend, the Glovers can find confidence in their performance in the return fixture against Saturday’s opponents, winning 2-0 against the Red Dragons.
Since that result, Wrexham have seen a return to form, but will not have played a National League fixture for 20-days so may have some rust to shake off.
Darren Sarll’s thoughts
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Sarll said, “It’s 11 men versus 11 men, it’s the same every week, we have to put ourselves into battle. Every game is a dogfight, and we’re doing it with different circumstances Wrexham, that’s not Wrexham’s fault and it’s not something to concern ourselves with.
“We have to make sure performance levels are higher than last week, we need to ensure players return to form. There are some still in terrific form, Matt Worthington & Morgan Williams have been really great. There are some that need to come back to it and we’ve addressed that this week.
“These young lads don’t know about form, they don’t know why it comes and goes, they don’t understand it. You sit and talk to Mark (Little), and Reuben (Reid), (Luke) Wilkinson & (Josh) Staunton, they understand how they come in and out of it, where it starts and why it starts. They need your support, reassurance and encouragement, they’re doing fantastically well.”

Mark Little could be in line for his first competitive start in a Yeovil shirt after making his debut off the bench last weekend.
On Friday lunchtime, Sonny Blu Lo-Everton’s loan extension was confirmed meaning he will remain at Huish Park until the end of the season.
Charlie Wakefield returned to training this week after a minor injury ruled him out in the FA Trophy. Another absentee who could return is club captain Luke Wilkinson who limped off against Southend United on the 11th January.

Since dropping back into the National League, Yeovil Town have endured mixed fortunes against the Red Dragons.
In Sarll’s first season, the two sides played out a memorable 3-3 draw, with Rhys Murphy hitting a hat-trick. In February 2020, the Glovers final home fixture before the COVID-19 lockdown, Yeovil were the 3-0 victors.
Last season, Saturday’s opposition enjoyed success in the fixture, winning both games against the green and whites. However, our trip to the Racecourse this season was a different story, with Yeovil taking home three points thanks to goals from Josh Staunton & Lo-Everton.
A foot in the opposition camp
Wrexham have been the most widely spoken about team in the National League this season, and it hasn’t been for what’s happened on the pitch. The club are now owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
The investment from the big names has seen big changes at the Racecourse Ground, with players such as Ben Tozer and Paul Mullin dropping down the divisions to play National League football.
In the dug-out, Phil Parkinson, who previously led Bradford to a League Cup final stepped into the role in the summer and will be hoping to add another promotion to his CV this season.

Tickets for Saturday’s game can be purchased from the online ticket office until midday on match day.
Following this, they can be purchased in person from the ticket office, however this is subject to a small price increase.
