Yeovil Town return to Huish Park on Tuesday evening (7:45pm) to face Woking in National League action.
After a 566 mile round trip on Saturday, the Glovers will be relishing home comforts as the Cards come to town.
Woking, despite having lost their last two games, have enjoyed a positive start to the season, sitting in 12th with games in hand on the teams around them.
Darren Sarll’s thoughts
Speaking after Saturday’s defeat to Grimsby, Sarll said; “All of the players have great energy and when they come on they try their absolute best.
“I was really impressed with their motivation and courage to take the ball. I like what (Jack) Robinson and (Jordan) Barnett are doing at the moment, they’re fantastic together.
“We’re building, but we know we need to come out all guns blazing Tuesday.”
Team news
Luke Wilkinson is the Yeovil Town player closest to a return from injury, but he remains unlikely to feature on Tuesday evening.
Morgan Williams, Alex Bradley, Mitch Rose, Reuben Reid and Mark Little are all still unavailable due to injury concerns.
A foot in the opposition camp
Woking Football Club, known as the Cards (from the Cardinal red of the red and white halves), was formed in 1887. Managed by Alan Dowson, he managed Woking to promotion from the National League South at the first attempt in 2018/19, and his side have remained in the National League ever since.
The star man for the visitors is Max Kretzschmar, having followed Dowson from Hampton & Richmond Borough to Woking, the midfielder has been a mainstay ever since, even becoming involved with the academy coaching department at the club.
Have we met before
Since returning to the National League, Yeovil Town hold an unbeaten home record against Dowson’s side.
In Sarll’s first season, the Glovers were the victors on a chilly October night as three first half goals built a comfortable advantage before the visitors pulled one back in the second half.
In last season’s clash at Huish Park, Rhys Murphy netted twice as Town were the 2-1 victors.
