Through his football consultancy business based in London, Mark Palmer, Managing Director of Insight 63 Ltd, has vast experience at a high level working confidentially with a number of league clubs in England and across Europe.
Palmer, who originates from Dorset, said on his new role: “Using the experience, knowledge and contacts that I have gained in football, I will be striving to drive the club forward whilst working alongside the Chairman.
“I will be looking at how we can improve the fortunes of the club both on and off the field, while looking at everything from stadium facilities, the further integration of the club within the local community, through to developing a winning team and making the club a more viable proposition for investors and businesses to engage with.
“The ultimate aim is to take YTFC back up the football pyramid.
“I am excited by the challenges at Huish Park. However, at the same time I am under no illusions and understand the challenges that lay ahead while being respectful of where the club has come from.”
Chairman John Fry commented: “We are very pleased to welcome Mark Palmer to Huish Park in this new advisory capacity. He is someone that I have known for over three years through his work and reputation in football.
“With the all-round experience he has, Mark will prove to be an excellent acquisition for the club and will very quickly play a significant role in the future of the club and moving it forward on all levels.
“Although Insight 63 Ltd usually work strictly on a confidential basis with clubs, both Mark and I thought it was important that our fans know we are working proactively and openly to enhance YTFC’s future.”
