Darren Sarll was left delighted by his Yeovil Town players after a strong showing against Dover.
A brilliant second half performance ignited by Marc Richards stunning strike secured Yeovil’s second win on the bounce.
Speaking following the game, the Gaffer said;
“I thought we were absolutely terrific, in the second half especially!
“First half we were solid, we had good territory but we didn’t have the momentum as it wasn’t wave after wave of attacks.
“In that second half, there was a good 25 minutes where everything we touched just looked like that second goal was gonna come.
“At the time I thought we needed that second goal, but looking back (Stuart) Nelson has had no save to make all afternoon.
“To win 1-0 with that type of performance, that commitment, that power, that’s what you want this time of year.”
The two sides were separated by a goal of real quality, as new forward addition Richards hammered the ball into the Dover goal in the 47th minute.
“He’s got good quality Marc (Richards). You just need to make sure the ball is at him, rather than over him or around him. He’s got good quality and he compliments Courtney in a mentor type way, but also their traits are very different.
“What a finish, what a composed finish. On the inside of his foot, on the half-volley on a bobbly surface, it really was some finish.
“We should have had so many more, if that were 3-0 to us, it wouldn’t have been a harsh scoreline.”
