Defender Keston Davies came in at centre-back and opened the scoring with his first professional goal, before Jake Gray responded to being dropped on the weekend by firing in a late second for his first Town goal.
The Green and Whites dominated proceedings at Huish Park against Sky Bet League One opposition and several players put in impressive displays, leaving Glovers boss Way with plenty to think about.
“There are loads to positives to take,” he told iFollow Glovers.
“It was a fantastic performance from start to finish; we controlled the game.
“Some of the individual performances, the pattern of play, combination play, shots we had on target and the crosses we put into the box was overall very pleasing.
“Keston scored his first goal and Jake came off the bench to score with a really good finish.
“The way the front two pressed their back three was good; the way the back four defended against some very, very good players was also pleasing.
“Everyone is now proving they deserve to play in the first team and I’ve got difficult decisions to make each week now, which I didn’t have last year.”
