Striker Kieffer Moore was left with mixed emotions on Saturday after scoring a wonder goal only to see Bournemouth equalise in almost comical circumstances.

Yeovil’s target man fired Gary Johnson’s side into the lead midway through the first half with a thunderous effort from the edge of the box, before Byron Webster’s clearance cannoned off of Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser and into the net.

Whilst elated with his goal, Moore was left disappointed the Glovers couldn’t collect all three points at Huish Park.

“It just came out and I caught it so sweet and I’m buzzing with it. I’m ecstatic, but a bit gutted obviously that we didn’t get the three points that we should have got with their goal being so spawny but it I’m on a high from my goal.

“It’s just gutting really; to do so well and then give away a goal like that is just really hard luck – much like this season – but it went against us.”

After arriving in the summer from Blue Square South outfit Dorchester Town, the young striker has revelled in every minute of Championship football he has seen this season, even with the numerous head injuries he has received.

“In my first season I didn’t think I’d get as much experience as I have but I’m just taking it all in my stride and finishing strongly, so I just want to keep going; I’m enjoying every minute of it.

“I’m just putting my body on the line for the boys and I just want to do my best. I need to win the aerial challenges so I just go for them and I don’t think about getting hurt, it’s just one of those things when it happens.”

Yeovil are now five points from safety with four games remaining, and Moore believes himself and the rest of his team-mates are in good shape to beat the drop.

“We had to comeback from Tuesday’s defeat; to be fair when we’ve had a bad game we’ve always come back from it, so to show our supporters that we’re still fighting is a big plus for us. It’s still mathematically possible and the boys still believe so we’re going to keep going.

“The crowd were fantastic today, they got behind the boys and we need that again for our last two home games and our away games too.

“I wouldn’t say we’re too tired, we’re all fighting strong and we’re just going to keep going, I think we’re all good.”
