The 19-year-old spent last season on loan at National League side Woking and made his EFL debut in last week’s last-minute defeat to Bury.
Ahead of his home debut Baxter said he aims to create a similar relationship with the fans that he had at Woking and Solihull Moors.
Speaking to iFollow Glovers he said: “I’ve had a good relationship with the Woking fans and the Solihull moors fans and I’d love to create that again here.
“I know the team is really well supported and the away support last week was brilliant. I can’t wait to get out there and show what I can do and hopefully start with a win.”
The Chelsea loanee was thrust straight into the deep-end with a start in the first game of the season with fellow stopper Stuart Nelson ruled out with a calf strain in pre-season.
Despite last weekend’s defeat, there is still an air of hope and ambition around Huish Park according to Baxter.
“I think everyone at the club is really excited and determined about this year; from the manager, the board, the players we’re all really excited about this season, we are ambitious about this season.
“We want to finish as high as possible and a quick start is important. It’s a difficult start that we’ve got so we need to make sure that every opportunity we’ve got we get points.
“It’s our first home game of the season so the onus will be on us to get the points and we’ll try to go out, play attacking football and win the game. If we play well we’ll win the game, we don’t want to worry too much about Mansfield.”
