Yeovil Town are delighted to confirm the signing of Jimmy Smith on an extended loan deal.
Signing on until May 5th, Jimmy returns to Somerset after an exceptional loan spell during the first half of the season.
A stand-out player so far for the Glovers, Jimmy has made an instant impact capturing the hearts of the Huish Park faithful by scoring five goals in his initial spell with the club.
With his continued stellar performances in green and whites, many fans were hoping Jimmy would continue his spell with Town, which the club is delighted to confirm.
After being hampered by an injury which left him unavailable for the festive fixtures, Jimmy continued to support his teammates from the side-lines, regularly appearing at Huish Park and away grounds.
After negotiations with Crawley, the two sides were able to settle on a deal which sees the former Crawley captain sign until the conclusion of our National League campaign.
A Chelsea academy graduate, Jimmy made one appearance for the Blue’s first team in the 2005/06 season, as a second half substitute against Newcastle.
Moving on to have a stellar career in the Football League Jimmy played for the likes of Queens Park Rangers, Norwich, Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship, before signing for Leyton Orient in League One.
Jimmy would have a brief spell working with Darren Sarll during the 13/14 season at Stevenage, as our current Gaffer was working amongst the academy staff at the club during that time.
Smith’s goalscoring touch returns to Sarll’s squad ahead of our FA Trophy meeting with Hampton & Richmond Borough this Saturday, with tickets available HERE.
