The 19-year-old netted Town’s second in the 3-3 draw against Exeter City last Saturday on his second league start since joining on loan from Tottenham Hotspur in January.
Harrison’s chances have mainly been limited to substitute appearances but the young forward is keen to build-on last weekend’s landmark day and establish himself in Darren Way’s side for the rest of the campaign.
Speaking to YTFC’s official YouTube channel, he said: “It’s been a long time coming, but I’m really happy to be off the mark and hopefully I can push on from here.
“As a striker, it’s always important to stay strong and know chances will come in games, so I knew it was only a matter of time – thankfully it happened at the weekend.
“I’ve got my first one and we’ve got a game against Carlisle which is a good test, so hopefully I can help the team again.”
Harrison’s spell in Somerset is his first taste of senior football having risen through the ranks at White Hart Lane.
Highly rated at Spurs due to his goal scoring record in Premier League 2, the Londoner is enjoying his time away from the capital.
“I’m really enjoying it. Every single minute of it, not only on the pitch but off it with the lads as well.
“It’s a great experience for me and I’m really glad I made the decision (to come here).
“Players who’ve been at Tottenham have also come here – I’m really happy. It’s very important for me and my career – early development.”
Shayon will be looking to score in front of the home faithful when Town entertain Carlisle United on Saturday, a physical test the striker is looking forward to.
“It’s a tough game,” he said. “They’re big on set-pieces so that will be a big thing in the game.
“We’ve worked on it in training and know the positions and jobs we have, so we’re looking forward to the game.
“I look forward to every challenge and every team we play is a tough challenge, so I’m looking forward to it.”
