Darren Sarll added to Yeovil’s goalkeeping ranks this week with the signing of Louis Jones on loan from Doncaster Rovers until January.
Jones comes into a vastly experienced Yeovil squad, hoping to learn from the likes of Stuart Nelson, and goalkeeping coach Darren Behcet, who spoke highly of the addition;
“We are delighted to welcome Louis to the club. Louis comes highly recommended from Doncaster.”
“After speaking with Paul Gerrard (Doncaster’s goalkeeping coach) we knew Louis was the right man to strengthen our goalkeeping department along with playing squad.”
The highly rated young goalkeeper joins the Glovers for what will be his fifth loan spell, something which Behcet thinks will be crucial to his development;
“Louis is in an important stage of his career and joining such an experienced squad will benefit him hugely in the long run.”
“I also believe with Louis working alongside Stuart Nelson on a day to day basis and seeing how such an experienced goalkeeper who has played over 500 league games pushes himself can only be good for Louis to model himself around.”
In just a matter of days with the squad, Behcet already feels the decision to bring Jones in has been vindicated.
“I believe adding Louis to our squad at this busy time of the season obviously strengthens us as it’s been top of our agenda for some time to bring in the right character to add into our dressing room.”
“Louis has already shown why he is rated highly at Doncaster and having him compete with Stuart Nelson will only benefit everybody involved with our club.”
