The club’s top scorer last season put pen to paper on a new deal to extend his stay in Somerset until the summer of 2019.
Zoko ended the 2016/17 campaign with 13 goals to his name, a haul that pushes the Ivorian into the top 10 list of goalscorers since the Glovers reached the EFL back in 2003. He sits ninth in the list ahead of the likes of Kevin Gall and Bartosz Tarachulski, whilst sitting just two goals behind Paddy Madden in seventh.
The 33-year-old featured 40 times for the Glovers last term and has scored more goals for the Green and Whites than any other player in the last three years, with a goal every 2.3 games from starting appearances.
Ready to start his second full season with Town, Zoko was elated to renew.
“I’m really pleased, happy and looking forward to next season,” he told YTFC.net.
“I was honest and sure on my idea with what I wanted to do. I told the club my point of view in terms of wanting something long-term and I think something can happen here. I will help the club as a player to try and achieve something because I believe something can happen and this is why I accepted to stay.
“I want to be part of something and finish on a real positive and I believe in Yeovil. We can do it.”
Yeovil boss Darren Way was delighted to retain Zoko’s goalscoring prowess.
He said: “I feel any manager at any football club needs a player that’s going to score and since I’ve been manager he’s done that very successfully.
“I have analysed and studied the last three years in terms of strikers that we’ve had and by far he’s been the best finisher that I’ve seen at this football club.
“It’s important we keep players of that quality if we’re striving to show ambition and be successful next year.”
