The Scunthorpe loanee made his first league start since re-joining the club for a second spell and netted an 88th minute equaliser to secure his second goal in three games.
Claiming a point to move into the top six, Olomola recalls a different experience during his first period with the club in the first half of the 2017/18 season.
Speaking to iFollow Glovers, he said: “Last year, these were the games we were losing. When games were tight we’d always crumble at the last hurdle.
“This time, we showed that even when things aren’t going our way, we never stop trying, we never stop believing and never stop trying for each other and it paid off.
“Games like that you need the crowd to be the twelfth man and you need that support and it saw us through I think.”
Picking up a point after Saturday’s disappointing defeat to Swindon Town at Huish Park, the clash with the Dons was Town’s game in hand on the rest of the division.
Using it to re-enter the play-offs, Olomola is targeting more of the same with his first full match of the season now under his belt.
“We just wanted to get the equaliser,” he said. “It was important that if we couldn’t win the game we didn’t lose it so I was delighted to get the goal.
“It was my first 90 minutes of the season so I was delighted to get through it.
“For me as a striker, I just want to keep getting minutes, keep getting goals and keep climbing the table.”
