4th October 2019

Darren Sarll’s side look to extend their winning run when they head to Hartlepool on Saturday (3pm).

The green and whites are the in-form side in the National League, picking up maximum points in their last seven games.

Most recently, the Glovers toppled league leaders Bromley in an eventful affair. After the Ravens took the lead through Michael Cheek, a calamitous own goal and headers from Jimmy Smith and Charlie Lee were enough to claim three points.

Looking to carry on the strong momentum, Town travel to a struggling Hartlepool side, who are winless in their last five.

Head-to-head

Sarurday’s clash will be the first between the two sides in Non-League football after previously meeting in the Football League and FA Cup.

Our most recent trip to Victoria Park in February 2017 ended in a 1-1 draw. After Padraig Armond put the hosts in front, a Matty Dolan penalty just minutes later was enough to share the points.

A memorable victory against Hartlepool came in March 2010. A Glovers side which included current player Craig Alcock smashed four goals past the Pools for a comfortable 4-0 victory.

Town also contested a topsy-turvy FA Cup tie with this weekend’s opponents December 2010, after taking a 2-goal lead. Hartlepool sprung into life thanks to an Anthony Sweeney hat-trick, eventually running out the 4-2 victors.

Officials

The man in the middle this weekend is Steven Copeland.

Copeland will be refereeing his fourth National League tie, having brandished 12 yellow cards in his previous three.

He will be assisted by Alex Gray, Nicholas Hawksby and Joseph Goodwin.
