The Glovers stopper was in fine form on a number of occasions to thwart a persistent Bees attack in the second half of the victory at Huish Park.
It was the ex-Leicester City man’s first full game of the campaign and he was delighted it ended in three points and a clean sheet.
He told iFollow Glovers: “It was brilliant. In the first half I thought we were on top, really in control and I didn’t have much to do!
“In the second half as a group we defended really, really well; there were clearances off the line which saved me a number of times.”
Maddison continued: “It’s brilliant to be back especially in front of the fans who were brilliant with me.
“The way Steve (Phillips) has kept me ticking over in training has proven he’s kept me ready throughout the first half of the season and now I’m happy to be on the pitch showing what I can do.
“When you save one that confidence goes up. Thankfully I kept the ball out of the back of the net which is what I’m paid to do!
“Any opportunity I get I’ll give my all and hopefully I’ll keep putting performances like that in every week!”
