27th November 2018

Darren Way’s side last featured in a league match at Huish Park at the end of October, playing out a 1-1 draw with Crewe Alexandra thanks to Alex Fisher’s strike.

Since then, the green and whites have seen off West Ham United Under-21s 4-0 in the Checkatrade Trophy before losing 3-1 to Stockport County in the Emirates FA Cup on home soil.

Looking for a return to winning ways, the hosts will be aiming to pick up maximum points for the first time in three outings.

If they’re to do so, Town will be unable to call upon the services of Fisher (groin), Olufela Olomola (hamstring), James Bailey (knee), Omar Sowunmi (ankle) and Diallang Jaiyesimi (knee).

Jordan Green (hamstring) is edging closer to fitness but could find the midweek match comes too soon. Alefe Santos is in line to return from illness, however, in a boost to Way’s squad.

After making his debut at Macclessfield, defender Adel Gafaiti could make his home bow alongside Gary Warren who returned to fitness at the weekend.

Coming into the clash with the Valiants, just one point separates the two sides.

Neil Aspin’s side are without a league win in their last three matches and will look for former Town loanee Ben Whitfield to influence things at Huish Park.

Head-to-head
Tuesday’s encounter will be the 13th meeting between the two sides since 2005.

With nothing to separate the two teams, both can boast four victories to their name.

The Glovers are unbeaten in four against Vale, with last season’s 3-2 Emirates FA Cup replay victory the only win. Otis Khan (x2) and Francois Zoko secured Town’s progression.

Officials
Lee Collins will take charge of proceedings at Huish Park.

The League Two fixture will be his 10th game of the campaign and first involving the green and whites.

He’ll be asissted by Mark Pottage and Justin Amey with Matthew Lee acting as fourth official.
