Manager Darren Way and members of the first team squad have been along to open a new Co-op store along St Michael’s Avenue in Yeovil.

Artur Krysiak, Joe Lea, Ben Whitfield, Matt Butcher, Matty Dolan and Ollie Bassett – as well as the Jolly Green Giant – teamed up with the supermarket chain to pose for photographs and take part in the cutting of the ceremonial ribbon.

The store will serve a wide area in the east side of the town and has been transformed from the previous Green Dragon pub. 

Matt Charlton the store manager was delighted to co-open the store alongside the Gaffer and several of the players.

He said: “It was great to have Darren and a number of the players here to open the store for us, it was nice to see their interest in not only the store but the local community.

“We look forward to hopefully seeing them back inside the store soon.”
