After Boxing Day defeat at Exeter City, the green and whites will be looking to bounce back with a much needed three points at Prenton Park.
Making a trip to take on the Super White Army for the first time since 2012, Darren Way’s side will be looking to end a seven-game winless streak against the promotion chasers.
Rovers sit just outside the play-offs in eighth position but come into the match off the back of a 3-1 win over strugglers Morecambe.
The Glovers have no fresh injury concerns but will still be unable to call upon Omar Sowunmi (ankle), James Bailey (knee), Alex Pattison (back), Wes McDonald (hamstring), Gabby Rogers (ankle) and Diallang Jaiyesimi (knee).
With an otherwise fit squad to choose from, Town’s boss could be tempted to make changes after naming an unchanged side for the trip to Devon on Wednesday.
Head-to-head
Saturday will be the 18th meeting between the two sides.
Both boasting six wins each, it’s a chance for one team to move ahead in the head-to-head record.
The green and whites have made eight previous visits to Prenton Park with one win coming in 2011.
Oli Johnson’s strike on 77 minutes was enough to claim all three points.
Officials
Charles Breakspear will take charge of proceedings in Merseyside.
His 27th match of the season it will be his first involving Town, last taking charge of a game involving the green and whites on the last game of the last season, the 3-2 defeat to Mansfield.
On Saturday he’ll be assisted by Natalie Aspinall and Ollie Williams with Nik Barnard acting as fourth official.
