5th November 2018

The Glovers are unable to qualify from the group stage going into the final Round One fixture against the Hammers but will still look to make home advantage count.

After back-to-back away trips in the league, Darren Way’s side return to Somerset where they’re four unbeaten with four consecutive draws.

Looking to sign off from the competition with three points the fixture will see Town unable to call upon six players.

Omar Sowunmi, Gary Warren, Jordan Green, Diallang Jaiyesimi, James Bailey and Korrey Henry will all sit out the match due to injury, whilst Alex Fisher will be assessed after missing Saturday’s events with a virus.

Whoever features will be lining up against a West Ham Under-21 side that lost 2-0 at home to Derby County in Premier League 2 at the weekend.

Enduring a tough start to the 2018/19 season the young Hammers are yet to score a goal in the Checkatrade Trophy and sit bottom of the group table.

Head-to-head
Tuesday’s meeting will be the first-ever competitive encounter between the Glovers and West Ham United.

Officials
Brett Huxtable will take charge of proceedings at Huish Park.

It’ll be his first match involving Town in almost a year, having overseen the 2-1 win over Plymouth Argyle in the same competition.

He’ll be assisted by Kevin Morris and Steven Plane with Ronald Ganfield acting as fourth official.
