23rd August 2019
With the team and supporters travelling over 900 miles last week with trips to Ebbsfleet and Barrow, the green and whites are back in BA22 looking for a return to winning ways.
The midweek win against the Fleet was followed up by a 1-0 defeat in Cumbria, inflicting a first defeat in four on Darren Sarll’s side.
However, Huish Park is yet to witness a defeat in 2019/20 with a win and a draw from the opening two fixtures against Eastleigh and Stockport County.
The Glovers will need that encouraging home form to continue against a Maidenhead side who’ve only tasted defeat once in their opening five games.
Last time out the Berkshire outfit saw off newly-promoted Chorley 5-1, which you can read about here.
Head-to-head
Saturday will be the first-ever league meeting between the two sides, with three previous cup encounters.
Back in October 1985, the Magpies visited the old Huish ground for an AC Delco Cup (Isthmian League Cup) tie which ended 2-2 to force a replay, which the Glovers eventually lost after extra-time.
All three encounters have come in Isthmian League Cup competitions, with the programme covers from the first two meetings below.
Officials
Tom Reeves will be the man in the middle this weekend.
He’ll be assisted by Michael D’Aguilar and Richard Walker with Shane Mansfield acting as fourth official.
