The third Town match in the space of a week, Darren Way’s side return to league action after hosting Aston Villa in round one of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.
Live on Sky Sports the green and whites suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat despite an impressive performance following the 2-2 draw with Mansfield three days previous in the league.
Whilst performances on the pitch haven’t correlated to more than a point on the board the Glovers head to Nottinghamshire in buoyant mood.
However, Way will be unable to choose from a handful of his squad who’ll remain in Somerset.
Stuart Nelson (calf), Jake Gray (ankle), James Bailey (knee) and Jordan Green (suspended) will definitely miss out, with Francois Zoko (knee), Shaun Donnellan (thigh) and Reece Cole (knee) awaiting further assessment.
Making the trip north, Carl Dickinson and Yoann Arquin could both feature against their former employers having played in every match so far.
Both sides will be looking to pick up their first win of the season at Meadow Lane, with Kevin Nolan’s side matching Town with a draw and loss to their name in League Two.
The Magpies also crashed out of the Carabao Cup in midweek by suffering defeat on penalties to Middlesbrough.
Head-to-head
The Glovers enter Friday’s match just ahead on the head-to-head stakes.
With seven wins and four draws from 17 encounters, Town will look to creep further ahead.
Both sides played out a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture at Huish Park last season before Alex Fisher netted Yeovil’s only goal in a 4-1 defeat in April.
Officials
Simon Hooper will be the man in the middle on Friday.
Mr Hooper last oversaw a Yeovil match in August 2015, officiating the 3-2 win over Luton Town at Huish Park.
On Friday, he’ll be assisted by Andrew Halliday and Danian Robathan with Craig Hicks acting as fourth official.
