With the Sky Bet League Two campaign kicking off at Bury on the 4th August, this weekend’s trip to Steel Park is likely to be the first-team’s last outing before the 2018/19 campaign begins. 

With recent performances cause for plenty of optimism Darren Way’s side will look to edge closer to the new season in style when taking on the Northern Premier League outfit. 

For the first time in pre-season loan goalkeeper Nathan Baxter will be part of the squad after covering for Thibaut Courtois and Willy Caballero at parent club Chelsea, whilst newest recruit Reece Cole will also make the trip to Northamptonshire.

Jake Gray and James Bailey continue their rehab from lengthy injuries so remain unavailable. 

The Steelmen have won all three of their friendlies prior to facing the Glovers, with wins over AFC Stamford, Wellingborough Town and an Oxford United XI. 

Way’s side will provide their sternest test so far, with tickets available on the day.
