The green and whites have risen up to fourth in the table after four consecutive wins – their best run of form since March 2015. 

Next up is a trip to Solihull Moors on Saturday (3pm) for a first-ever league meeting between the two sides. 

Previewing the trip, Skiverton told YTTV: “The club has gone as low as it needed to go to catch its breath and rebuild. A new manager has come in with different ideas and learned from the mistakes of the past. The recruitment has been largely experienced players.

“There’s a different feel and culture created for this level. In the past it’s largely been about younger players and developing them. The manager has come in and said the club have got to start pushing, we need players who have played at this level and above, then the younger ones can come through when the club is in a good position.

“It’s been a different module; it’s surprised me how quickly it has been implemented. The manager always said it would take a couple of months to build a team to the way of his liking, but we seem to almost be there ahead of time.”

Sarll’s side are the only team in the division to have won four games on the bounce so far in 2019/20 and will now face a Solihull side who finished second in the division last season. 

Anticipating a tough test, Skiverton revealed the focus of the pre-match preparation.

“It will be a stern test and they’re a strong team. They had a fantastic season last year and we’re mindful of that, but the way that the manager works, it’s 80/90% what we’re doing and then he’ll maybe open the door and show 10% of what they do.

“He’s really focused on getting us right as a football club and a team and we then go away to Solihull and we make them change.

“So for us, it’s been a really positive working week and one the manager wants to keep going. With the characters we’ve got in the changing room complacency won’t be an issue and they want to go for five in a row.”
