The green and whites finished off their 2019/20 preparations with a 2-1 win over a strong Bristol City Under-23s side thanks to goals from Rhys Murphy and Tom Bradbury.
Unbeaten from five of their six warm-up friendlies, Sarll is looking for the ‘win at all costs’ mentality to persist.
“We’ve just got to retain that energy, that really good energy around the place. It’s not always going to be pretty or pleasing on the eye, we’ve just got to have a winning mentality.
“When I talk about the calibre of people we have signed, Collins’ block on the line, that’s character, that’s the way the man sees it, he doesn’t know when to throw in the towel.
“The first and last fifteen minutes were as good as we have played, there was a middle patch where we had to try and take the sting out the game.
“I thought in the second half, we were soft.
“If you’re going to do something really great you’ve got to ride some punches and get through some difficult times and that’s what we did which is my biggest pat on the back to the players.”
