An unbelievable goal from centre-back Omar Sowunmi and a late Jordan Green strike confirmed the Glovers’ second three points in a row.
It is the first time Yeovil have secured back-to-back league victories since October 2016 and Way hailed his players’ efforts.
“I feel very proud of my players,” he told iFollow Glovers.
“What they showed me was they’re a very special group who are growing stronger together; we played like it was a cup final.
“We talked about trust and responsibility with the players; they’ve proved I can trust them and they’re certainly responsible for the win.
“Overall the group are working really hard. It’s a proud moment for me to come here (and win) at a place we’ve had many problems before.
“There’s a feel good factor in the dressing room. We have to make sure we keep this spirit because we’ve got quality.
“It was great to see the supporters celebrating at the end and we’ll keep marching on.”
