Carlisle were formed on the 17th May 1904 after Shaddongate United decided on changing the name after an annual general meeting by the club.
Carlisle or otherwise known as The Cumbrians play at Brunton Park, which boasts a capacity of an impressive 18,200. They play in a predominately blue strip for home games.
The Cumbrians are managed by former England International Keith Curle, whom racked up over 700 appearances for club and country. Carlisle is Curle’s fifth managerial job after he managed the likes of Torquay and Notts County. His managerial career started off with being a player/manager with Mansfield from 2002-2005.
Carlisle’s arguably most instrumental player is Jason Kennedy, who is their maestro in midfield.
His greatest achievement is becoming a runner up in the 2006 UEFA Cup with Middlesbrough.
