With the SkyBet League One 2014/15 season getting underway at Huish Park this Saturday, Gary Johnson is encouraged by what he has seen in pre-season.
The Glovers rounded off their league campaign preparations with a convincing 9-0 victory against Dorchester on Monday night, ahead of entertaining Doncaster in League One this Saturday.
Manager Gary Johnson is pleased with his summer acquisitions, whilst pointing out the potential importance of a ‘loud and proud’ attendance on Saturday.
“I’m pleased with our squad and I’ve seen individuals that we’ve brought in what they’ve got. You’ve only seen them in five or six games but I’ve seen them in training everyday and I know what they’ve got and I think that if we can get a good start, if we can get a crowd that’s enthusiastic and really gets behind us with their noise and their numbers and they show the lads that they’re up for it, the lads will get up for it, there’s no doubt.
“People say ‘why don’t they get up for it with a thousand people’, but listen, with six or seven thousand people – I’m not saying we’ll get that but if we did – that doesn’t half go a long way to getting people’s mentality to know that this club is right up for it, not just the players but the club is right up for it. It would be good if we can get a noisy, colourful crowd against Doncaster, our old adversaries.”
Tickets are available FREE of charge for Under-16’s for the visit of Doncaster whilst additional tickets can be purchased before, or on the day, by calling 01935 84788, by clicking here or by visiting the Huish Park ticket office.
