Yeovil Town have agreed to sign Burnley striker Wes Fletcher on a month’s loan. 21 year old Fletcher was rewarded with a new two-year contract for Burnley at the start of the 2011/12 campaign.
Fletcher made his Clarets’ first-team debut as a substitute in Burnley’s Carling Cup tie against Morecambe in August, 2010.
He then gained further senior experience during a loan spell with League Two side Stockport County following a similar stint at Grimsby Town in 2009/10.
The former youth team player, who scored 40 goals at youth and reserve team level for the Clarets’ in 2008/09, figured in the first team squad under Eddie Howe on his return towards the end of last season.
Injury denied the former Liverpool schoolboy, who joined the Clarets in 2007, the chance of a League debut on the final day of the campaign but the striker had done enough to earn the offer of a new deal.
