This weekend’s home fixture against Newport County will see the launch of an exciting first phase of the new Family Area at Huish Park.
The Family Area will provide children and families a range of pre-match entertainment and activities outside the ground on match-days.
Families attending the game on Saturday should look out for the new inflatable Glovers Dome outside the Tamburino Stand from 1pm, where kids will be able to collect their free activity sheet; take part in competitions; meet the players as they arrive for photos and autographs; and as always watch out for the Jolly Giant who will be around to join in the fun.
Keep an eye out too for some exciting new additions including the Jolly Giant’s new green and white post box – a great way for kids to write letters to the players and Jolly himself and post entries to the competitions being run on the day.
As well as the dome outside the ground, next season will also see the introduction of a Junior Glovers hub inside the ground which will provide indoor, covered spaces for children to use before the game.
Funded by the Junior Glovers the Family Area will provide young fans with a whole afternoon’s entertainment with game consoles to use, Table Football, activity sheets and competitions in the build up to kick off.
Also taking part in the new look match-days will be Yeovil Towns Community Sports Trust, who will be running their match-day experiences, as well as involvement from the Academy and Ladies teams.
Marilyn Cottle of the Junior Glovers said: “We are delighted to help out with the new Junior Glovers Family Area.
“We have looked at what other clubs do in their family zones and have seen they have been a real success and we are excited about having our own family zone at Huish Park.
“The area will bring something different and enjoyment for families and it will enhance the overall match day experience, especially for young Town fans.”
The Family area will be based around Gate 3 of the Tamburino stand alongside the Green and White’s programme shop.
We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday!
