The green and whites secured three points thanks to Tom Bradbury’s second-half strike earning a 1-0 victory.
Adding to his squad on Monday with the signings of Liam O’Brien and James Tilley, both made their first appearances for the club under the lights.
Fitting seamlessly into the side, Sarll was left impressed by his newest additions: “I wanted to bring him (Liam O’Brien) in as a strategy. I don’t have the luxury of a decision in the centre forward position, but I do in goal. I think Marcin (Brzozowski) has been excellent with us and I hope he stays until the end of the season.
“I wanted to use the attributes of O’Brien tonight which you could see with our distribution. He’s got a real presence and I thought it was important we had a real dominant talker behind the back four. It was a good decision to bring him in tonight as he’s had a key save in the first half and made a huge contribution to the outcome of the game.
“You haven’t seen anything yet with him (James Tilley). I want him to become braver, so he always has the ball at his feet. If he doesn’t, we cannot utilise his attributes to their best.
“I thought he came on and showed real courage and that’s something the coaching staff will have to be careful with, to continue that belief and encouragement to get on the ball.”
Sarll picked a young side to start against the U’s with the likes of Gabby Rogers making his first competitive start for the club this season.
A decision he felt was vindicated with the result when speaking to YTTV: “I thought it was important for our young players. I picked a very young team tonight who kept plugging away. I’m delighted with the win.
“It was nice to have a clean sheet, I thought Liam O’Brien made a terrific save in the first half but apart from that I thought he was untested.
“Matt Gray (Sutton manager) is terrific, they run for him and they’re going to pick up points. I thought it was a big hurdle to overcome as are teams treating Yeovil like a big away day.
“It was important we kept our concentration. It could have been 4-0 in the first fifteen minutes so I’m glad we didn’t lose concentration throughout.”
