The defender was offered a new two-year deal by the club but has opted for a move to the Gills.
It brings an end to Lacey’s two-year stay in Somerset, having joined the club in the summer of 2015 from Luton Town.
Lacey featured 72 times in all competitions for the Glovers, scoring on four occasions.
“I’m proud of Alex’s development at Yeovil Town,” boss Darren Way said.
“We offered him a fantastic deal to remain at Huish Park but he wanted to play at a higher level.
“We wish him all the best in his career.”
