Now returning to league action, Dickson is looking to take the positives from the cup encounter.
The 31-year-old played 90 minutes on Friday night before speaking to YTFC.net.
“You can only learn from the best players, it’s as simple as that,” he said. “They’re the type of players you want to be watching week in, week out and for the young lads and everyone at the football club you can only learn from seeing that quality.
“We have to take the excitement from the United game and the positive atmosphere around the place into our league games.
“We need to start winning league games, that’s the main thing at the moment.”
