The two sides come head-to-head for the first time in a competitive fixture as the first round gets underway in Somerset live on Sky Sports.
Enjoying cup runs in the Checkatrade Trophy and Emirates FA Cup last season, Town’s summer recruit is looking to make home advantage count when the Championship outfit arrive.
Talking to YTFC.net, he said: “We have to focus on ourselves and how to approach the game. It will be a tough place for Villa to come down to – they won’t be used to this kind of setting and surroundings so hopefully, we will have a few fans here cheering us on but as long as we’re at it and at full-force we’ll give them a good game.
“The club has a kind of cup pedigree from last year and the years before but we’re up against a side that just missed out on promotion to the Premier League last year so we have to be at our best.
“If we are, we will certainly give them a good game and hopefully cause an upset.”
Warren returned to the English game this summer after a six-year stay north of the border with Inverness.
Now 33, the defender has returned closer to his Bristol home and is loving every second as a Glover.
Enjoying life in Somerset, he wants success on the pitch, too.
“It’s been like a breath of fresh air,” he said. “I’m back closer to home so the club suits me, but I’ve come here to be successful this year and throughout my time with Yeovil.
“I’ve loved every minute so far. Pre-season was good in terms of getting to know the club and the people around it. It’s a family, tight-knit community club and somewhere that if we all pull in the right direction, could be successful.”
