Darren Sarll was left frustrated that the same mistakes ultimately cost Yeovil Town as they suffered defeat against Chesterfield FC at Huish Park.
The Glovers fell behind in the 70th minute as Tom Denton finished well past Adam Smith securing a much-needed min for the Spireites but also adding to the home sides frustration.
There were positives to take however for Yeovil as loan signing Morgan Williams produced a strong showing a centre back in only his second start since his last loan spell with the club back in 2019.
Speaking after the game, Sarll said: “Ironically, I said to Terry (Skiverton) about three minutes before the goal that the game would be decided by a mistake. I didn’t think either side would have conceded from set pieces I just thought it would be down to an individual error and unfortunately for us it’s gone against us today.
“We’ve obviously made a big individual error which sadly has been the theme of the week and these individual errors are costing us massively this season.”
He continued: “Aside from that I thought we were really competitive, the players worked hard, and I thought we were a lot more aggressive in our play compared to Tuesday so that was good to see.
“It’s obviously frustrating when you gift a pass to inform forward around 20 yards out whose obviously ultimately won the game for them, so it doesn’t matter how good or bad a performance it was it means nothing as you’ve taken nothing away from the game.
“Regarding the error I never put it down to the individual and that’s what we and I am about. We are one big team, and we try to be as cohesive as possible as a group. Over these 10 month seasons these mistakes occur and unfortunately for us it’s happened within the first seven games which is why we are still searching for our first win.”
He finished: “I’m still positive that we will overcome this period, certain if I’m honest and before we know it, we’ll be hitting the ground running again. Once again, we’ve got to put this result behind us and go again next week.”
