Jacob Sokolik arrived at Huish Park in June 2014 following his departure from Liverpool. He spent two seasons with the Glovers where he made 45 appearances netting his only goal against Dagenham & Redbridge in a 2-2 draw in October 2015.

The reason we mention the towering centre half is due to the recent sad news that his two-year-old son is fighting a crippling illness, B-cell acute lymphoblastic (Leukaemia), an illness that needs specialist treatment.

Jakub has set up a GoFundMe page to help assist the treatment financially. The football club have donated £500 towards the target to help a former player in need. Once a Glover, always a Glover!
