Yeovil Town will be hosting our final EPDP taster session on Monday 24th Oct, at 6pm – 7:30pm.
The programme which is jointly offered by Yeovil Town FC and Yeovil College is an exciting opportunity for Year 12 and 13 BTEC students to continue their full-time education within a professional football environment.
The football programme training is based at Huish Park with games across the South West, and studies based at Yeovil College offer BTEC Level 2 & 3 options, retakes of GCSEs and opportunities for additional coaching qualifications alongside the BTEC programme.
Recent successes have seen Ollie Haste sign his first professional deal. During his time in the programme he started for the England College side, along with appearances in the Yeovil Town first team squad, making his National League debut against Altrincham.
A number of EPDP players also starred in Yeovil Town’s Somerset Premier Cup win last season, with then interim manager Charlie Lee full of praise for the youngsters, describing their performances as ‘superb’.
The programme has also won the local college league and helped South West colleges win the National Cup in Nottingham with their gold medal performance in the seven-a-side tournament.
This course is not just for those looking for routes into playing professionally, the course opens doors across the football industry, with the course helping those looking to go into sports science, physiotherapy and coaching at University and beyond. We have had a number of recent graduates attend Cardiff Metropolitan University and Liverpool John Moores. We have also had students earn playing scholarships in the United States.
This taster session will take place 24th Oct, starting at 6pm and ending at 7:30pm at the Huish Park 3G pitch and is open to all existing Year 10 and 11 students.
